NSC is registered as a Charitable Children’s Institution (CCI) that provides temporary shelter for abandoned, neglected, and vulnerable children aged 0-3 years. Established in 2004, it initially focused on HIV/AIDS orphans facing stigma and discrimination. Now, it supports all categories of vulnerable children.
NEW START CENTRE
A loving home
for babies in crisis
Services Provided
Baby Rescue & Shelter
In Kenya, countless babies are abandoned in pathways, dustbins, hospitals, and even pit latrines. While we can’t save them all, we strive to rescue as many as we can. At New Start Centre, we revive their lives, offering love and restoring hope. We provide a safe, caring environment where each child is fed, clothed, given medical care, and educated. We play, smile, laugh, and have fun together, acting as God’s hands to these children.
Reunification and Foster care
At NSC, we follow the National Care Reforms of Kenya, prioritizing family tracing and foster care over facility admission. We ensure children are not unnecessarily separated from their families, believing each child thrives best with loving parents. Through prayer, we seek families for each child, facilitating fostering for those committed to making a lasting difference in a child’s life.
Education
For various reasons, some children cannot be placed into foster care, and no biological family can be traced for reunification. In such cases, these children remain in our care beyond the age of 3 and begin attending school at Ripples International Christian Schools – Nahal. We cover their tuition fees, provide school uniforms, and supply learning materials for Kindergarten and primary school.
